Adult and Cosmetic Dentistry

Adult Dentistry is for anyone who is 18 years of age or older. Whether you’ve been to Sugarbug as a pediatric dental patient or not, Dr. Noel can treat you. She has over 20 years of experience in general and cosmetic dentistry and offers exams, cleanings, periodontal (gum) treatment, tooth-colored fillings, crowns, bridges, restoration of implants, veneers, Botox and more! Her goal is to make your appointment as stress-free and comfortable as possible. The staff and atmosphere are confident and calm. You will be in good hands at Sugarbug Dental!

Tooth-colored fillings are the most lifelike material used to fill cavities. Composite fillings can be completed in one visit. Once the decay is removed, the tooth is filled with material that hardens immediately after placement and is nearly invisible.

Crowns are used to restore damaged teeth or those with cracks and certain other conditions. Crowns completely cover the remaining tooth structure. They can be made of different materials including porcelain, gold, or zirconia, allowing us to choose what is best for each patient and each tooth.

A tooth that cannot be saved with restorative materials may need to be removed. Other teeth are removed due to a lack of space or an inability to clean the tooth. Dr. Noel has extensive experience in extracting teeth. Certain patients and certain teeth may need to be referred to a qualified Oral Surgeon. Dr. Noel will discuss your options with you so that you have the best treatment for you.

A dental bridge is a permanent appliance that replaces a missing tooth or teeth. It involves putting crowns on the teeth on either side of a gap with a pontic to replace the missing tooth (or teeth). These pieces are put together so they fit into the open space where your tooth (or teeth) used to be. Bridges can be made of ceramic, porcelain, or gold.

Dental bridges are an alternative to partial dentures. A bridge can help you eat and speak better and improve the look of your smile.

Implants are a modern technique to replace single teeth. A titanium post is placed into the bone by a surgeon. After healing, Dr. Noel can restore that root replacement with a natural looking abutment and crown. Implants are the most lifelike way to replace a missing tooth, cannot get decay, and do not involve work on the adjacent teeth. They can develop gum disease (gingivitis or periodontitis) so must be cleaned and examined yearly by a dental professional.

Veneers are thin coverings that fit over the front surfaces of your teeth. They can be made of tooth-colored composite or porcelain. Dental veneers are cosmetic in nature and can conceal a wide range of esthetic imperfections including chips, cracks, gaps, tooth discoloration and more.

Dr. Noel is proud to offer Botox ™ treatment at Sugarbug Dental. This is an FDA-approved treatment used for significant relief of TMJ disorders and migraines, as well as to treat a “Gummy Smile” and reduce forehead, eye or lip wrinkles. Botox ™ can relax the jaw muscles to help prevent teeth grinding and clenching. It has also been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of migraine headaches by relaxing the muscles that can trigger them.

Dentists are particularly specialized to administer Botox™ because they are trained in head and neck anatomy, are well-versed in administering facial injections, and receive extra training to administer Botox™ injections. Dr. Noel has taken specialized training in Botox™ cosmetic and TMJ/trigger point injections.

If you’ve been a pediatric patient at Sugarbug Dental recently, your care on the adult side of the practice will be a continuation of what you’re used to- a cleaning, x-rays, and an examination.

If you are new to the Sugarbug family, your first visit will be for a comprehensive examination with Dr. Noel. A medical history will be taken and reviewed, x-rays will be taken if needed, and the doctor will perform head and neck, periodontal, and restorative examinations. This will give her information about your overall health and that of your teeth and gums.
